Need an alternative to bitly?

Two sites we manage use short links posted on X (Twitter) to promote themselves and have always used bitly to generate the shortened URL. Bitly have suddenly increased their pricing to a point that seems a bit excessive to us.

As always we look for an internal solution, so we registered popco.uk. We added some functionality to the admin so that you can click a button and it automatically generates a short URL, when you click the link you are bounced on to the correct link.

We're not quite doing what Bitly do: At the moment we're generating a single link to a page. If you wanted to create two links to the same page and track the traffic from each source we can't currently do that but we'll see if this is used and extend to meet the requirement and as usual all part of the standard subscription fee for using Populate.

Try the short-link to this page popco.uk/9b52251
